Terms of Service

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Otesc for your use of the Rooster app and the services behind it. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

You must be at least 13 years old and meet the minimum age required in your country to use Rooster. By using the app, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

You are responsible for the account you create and for keeping your sign in details secure. You agree to give accurate information and to let us know if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account.

When you use Rooster, you agree not to:

• Break the law or use the app for anything illegal.
• Harass, threaten, or harm other people.
• Post or share content that is unlawful, hateful, or sexually exploitative of minors.
• Send spam, scams, or unwanted bulk messages.
• Upload malware or try to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
• Impersonate someone else or misrepresent who you are.
• Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.

You keep ownership of the content you create, post, and share in Rooster. To run the service, you grant Otesc a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content only as needed to operate the app and deliver it to the people you choose. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content already delivered to others or copies kept briefly in backups.

We want Rooster to be safe. We may review, limit, or remove content on the public Social side, and we may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Because one-to-one chats are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot read their contents, so moderation there depends on user reports and account-level signals.

Your use of Rooster is also covered by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Rooster relies on third-party services, including Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications, Google Play services, and an AI provider that processes content you send to the AI Assistant. Your use of those features may also be subject to the providers own terms.

We work to keep Rooster available and reliable, but we may change, pause, or stop features at any time. We are not responsible for interruptions outside our reasonable control.

Rooster is provided on an as is and as available basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the extent allowed by law. We do not promise that the app will always be error free or uninterrupted.

To the extent allowed by law, Otesc is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Rooster. In all cases, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us to use the app, if any.

You may stop using Rooster and delete your account at any time from the account deletion page. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled by the courts located in Lagos, Nigeria.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make a significant change, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Rooster after a change means you accept the updated terms.
